چکیده

We have studied the problem of the dissipative motion of Bloch walls considering a totally anisotropic one dimensional spin chain in the presence of a magnetic field. Using the so-called “collective coordinate method” we construct an effective Hamiltonian for the Bloch wall coupled to the magnetic excitations of the system. It allows us to analyze the Brownian motion of the wall in terms of the reflection coefficient of the effective potential felt by the excitations due to the existence of the wall. We find that for finite values of the external field the wall mobility is also finite. The spectrum of the potential at large fields is investigated and the dependence of the damping constant on temperature is evaluated. As a result we find the temperature and magnetic field dependence of the wall mobility. Typeset using REVTEX ∗E-mail: [email protected] 1

Degeneracy and Continuous Deformations of Supersymmetric Domain Walls

In a wide class of supersymmetric theories degenerate families of the BPSsaturated domain walls exist. The internal structure of these walls can continuously vary, without changing the wall tension. This is described by hidden parameters (collective coordinates). Differentiating with respect to the collective coordinates one gets a set of the bosonic zero modes localized on the wall. Neither of...

We consider quantum N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory interacting in a covariant way with N = 4 conformal supergravity. The induced large N effective action for such a theory is calculated on a dilaton-gravitational background using the conformal anomaly found via AdS/CFT correspondence. Considering such an effective action as a quantum correction to the classical gravity action we study quantum co...

Bloch Oscillations of Magnetic Solitons in Anisotropic Spin-1/2 Chains Typeset Using Revt E X 1

We study the quantum dynamics of soliton-like domain walls in anisotropic spin-1/2 chains in the presence of magnetic fields. In the absence of fields, domain walls form a Bloch band of delocalized quantum states while a static field applied along the easy axis localizes them into Wannier wave packets and causes them to execute Bloch oscillations, i.e. the domain walls oscillate along the chain...

The leading soft gluon pT distribution in heavy ion collisions was obtained by Kovner, McLerran, and Weigert after solving classical Yang-Mills equations. I show explicitly this result can be understood in terms of conventional QCD perturbation theory. I also demonstrate that the key logarithm in their result represents the logarithm in DGLAP evolution equations.
